Sharon Burch is a practical visionary who uses the integrative healing arts to guide her family, friends, and clients to optimize their health, expand their wholeness, and embody their joy.
Sharon has practiced nursing in hospitals, long term care, home care, hospice, and the community-at-large since 1974. She began applying holistic health approaches in 1977 when she prepared to deliver her first child at home. That experience inspired her to dedicate herself to empowering people to end ways of being that are not effective in supporting life and embody new ways that are stronger, wiser, and more life-affirming, instead.
Sharon is a board-certified Public Health Nurse Specialist, an Advanced Practice Holistic Nurse, and a holistic Health and Wellness Nurse-Coach. She is also certified by the Four Winds Society as an Energy Medicine Practitioner and a Teacher of Dying Consciously.
She has authored two textbooks and more than 40 home study CE courses for holistic nurses and massage therapists, founded the nonprofit organization Awakening to Grace, and recently served as the Holistic Nurse Practice Specialist at the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA).
As a nurse-entrepreneur, Sharon practiced holistic nursing in Lawrence, KS from 1993 until 2001. From 2001 to 2016, she expanded her holistic insights through studying with healing mentors across the USA and connecting with nature in Hawaii and Arkansas. She returned to Lawrence in 2016 and now lives and practices in the Pinckney neighborhood. In her free time, Sharon spends time with her daughter, Adria and her sweetheart Larry, and serves on the board of directors for the Hawaii Yoga Institute. Her motto in healing and living is “Life is sacred. Let’s honor the journey.”
